DECT Series Part 3: DECT and secure communications
If you are part of an emergency services team or a lone worker in a remote location, or if a failed communication can make a crucial difference to a team’s performance, your system has to just work.
The DECT(Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephony) standard is, by default, very secure; it has 64-bit encryption preventing unauthorized people from snooping on your communications & data. This ensures nobody can eavesdrop on your calls or capture your data. To bypass this security, a “hacker” or malicious user would have to have equipment that can monitor digital radio transmissions and then have software and hardware that can decrypt the information, something that with current technology is virtually impossible to “brute-force.”
In this animated video by the DECT Forum, we look at the benefits of DECT and why it is the choice of professionals and consumers alike when secure communications are absolutely vital.
