Spectralink Salutes Nurses and Caregivers During National Nurses Week
Whether they are on the front lines of a hospital emergency room, conducting health screenings for children at a local elementary school, or visiting the homebound as part of hospice care, nurses improve people’s lives every single day. The Spectralink Team salutes all of them during National Nurses Week which begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, nurse pioneer and public health advocate.
Ms. Nightingale is widely acknowledged as the founder of modern nursing. Her writings, including an 830-page report entitled Notes on Matters Affecting the Health, Efficiency and Hospital Administration of the British Army, sparked worldwide health care reform. In 1860, she established St. Thomas’ Hospital and the Nightingale Training School for Nurses.
Today there are more than 3.1 million registered nurses nationwide, including SeeSee Rigney, an operating room nurse at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, WA. SeeSee recently celebrated her 90th birthday, making her the oldest working nurse in the United States. As you can see from the video of SeeSee’s colleagues celebrating her birthday and six decades in nursing, her energy, compassion and dedication are an inspiration to all of us.
Spectralink is proud and honored to work with nurses worldwide by providing mobile devices that help streamline their duties so they can focus on what they love to do most – care for patients. Following is a partial list of the hospitals and nursing teams we are privileged to work with.
